Zesty Garlic Dressing

Garlic is one of nature’s true superfoods. Garlic contains compounds that make it a potent antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial. Pretty much whatever ails you, garlic will probably help!  The benefits of garlic extend beyond the nutritional punch that each clove packs. Garlic is very affordable, readily available pretty much everywhere, stores well in the bulb, and can be used in a variety of ways. This Zesty Garlic Dressing is a simple way to get more raw garlic into your diet without having to eat it straight.

Raw garlic is where most of the antimicrobial benefits can be found. Blending raw cloves into dressings like this Zesty Garlic Dressing is the best way to get the most of the medicinal power.  

Consuming more raw garlic will help your body in many ways. Whether you are fighting an infection, combating candida or another gut overgrowth, or just wanting to boost your immune system. 

My only word of caution is that because raw garlic is so potent, there is the potential for detox-like symptoms to occur. If you are sensitve, I recommend baby-stepping your garlic consumption so that you don’t have an adverse reaction.  The first time I made this dressing, I had been already consuming a lot of garlic the past few days and ended up with a headache. While it was a bummer, once I knew it was the garlic, it made me realize how incredibly powerful it is!

All of the other ingredients in this Zesty Garlic Dressing serve fantastic healing purposes as well, particularly for detoxing from heavy metals like mercury.

Fun fact, “ail” is the word for garlic in French. Do you think that is a coincidence?

Zesty Garlic Dressing

(Paleo, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free)

Prep time: 5 minutes

Makes ~ 1 cup

Ingredients

Directions

  • Place all of the ingredients in your blender or blender cup
  • Blend until everything is well mixed, making sure the garlic cloves get puréed
  • Store in a glass container in the fridge and use within 7-10 days
  • Drizzle on salads, roasted veggies, or take a shot to your wellness!
